== History == Quinne Chantai, a very renowned prodigy Opera singer in Germany, suddenly disappeared right before a performance of Schubert's famous "Erlkönig." The recorded missing date is 10/4/2049, when Quinne was 19 years of age. She still hasn't been found, but there have been reports from local hikers and residents near the "Schwarzwald" (Black Forest) of a young girl covered in red bodypaint that seemingly fits the description of Ms. Chantai. Shortly thereafter, a search party found a bloody, ripped up show program with a handwritten biography in one of the empty pages. It's written in German and English, and reads, <small>"Born a performer, to die a performer, always a performer. Performance is the very essence of my being. Be it in life or on stage, it is what kept me going. One late, fateful night in the Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg, I was practicing for an upcoming performance, Schubert's Erlkönig. No one was in the theatre as I was singing, or so I thought. I was too focused to notice the sudden accompaniment of a piano, it just felt so natural. When I finished singing, one lone applause came from the pianist's seat, and a shadowy figure sitting there. I'm enthralled by her presence as she approaches, a slight glow in his eyes. "Willst du mit mir sterben?" she said. I agreed without knowing what was next to come. Suddenly, I was stolen, and the rest is history."</small> It is suspected that Quinne had been kidnapped, and the program was kept at the Polizeidirektion Leipzig. After two years of rumors regarding the sightings in Schwarzwald, the Polizei Sachsen stopped putting effort into the lost girl and named the case as a failure. Exactly one month later, the rest of the Chantai family was murdered during the night. In the midst of the investigation, Quinne was declared dead but not found. Many residents still claim that the girl that fits Ms. Chantai's description roams the forest. A few days after the news of the Chantai family being declared as deceased was published, there were many frightened calls from passerbys during the night, claiming there was an earpiercing singing coming from the forest, unsure of the source. As such, the locals named this phenomenon "Die Opernsängerin," and warn others of going into the Schwarzwald at night. Two more years later, the stories seemed to fade. The screeches seemed to stop. Nobody remembered the Chantai tragedy henceforth. === Early Life === Quinne Chantai was born in Leipzig, Germany. Her early life, to her, was miserable and unfulfilling. She felt lonely in school and separated from society as a whole. Early into her life, she realized that she was transgender, and came out to her parents with much ease. She took up singing, and found she had a talent for it. She strived to perfect the art, and soon became one of the most popular youth singers in Germany. After she graduated from Gymnasium (German High School), she was immediately hired by a professional Opera Company and started touring almost immediately. She performed in seven shows in her first year, all with sold out seats at local theatres. In her second year of professional performance, her name was well known in the country and local bordering lands. After another seven shows in that year, her director, Viktor von Celle, set up one final performance before her winter break. He allowed her to choose the literature, to which she immediately chose Schubert's "Erlkönig." She had prepared the piece, but wanted this performance to be "as perfect as possible," an interviewer stated the day before. She told the reporter that she planned to get extra practice that night before, and that was the last words ever recorded by anyone before her disappearance that very night. === Early Unlife === Sired by Emma Montes on the night of her mortal disappearance, Quinne and her Sire escaped to the deep woods of the Schwarzwald to hide for a while to prevent breach of Masquerade, but one night, Emma was gone after a few nights of seemingly safe travels. As such, Quinne was left alone for two years unending to survive in the forest, hiding from search parties and police. Unfortunately, she had heard from a nighttime passerby that "the Chantai family had been murdered a week ago..." and quickly entered a state of major depression. For nights on end, she cried out in agony, wishing she could save her family from the murderers. Her mourning eventually developed into traits from her Sire's Clan, the Daughters of Cacophony. Two years later, she finally found an opportunity to reconnect with Emma Montes, which she immediately took and fled from Germany to Caliburn Island, where she met the Harpy of Caliburn Island. After a conversation on Schrecknet, she arranged a time to meet with her Sire at the Morgue Club, a vampire-exclusive goth club. === Recent Unlife === After reconnecting with Emma Montes before the sunrise of the 4th of January, 2054, she was introduced to the concepts of Kindred society, taught the Traditions of the Camarilla, and was, at the end of the night, Blood Bonded to Emma Montes. The early night of the 4th, Emma brought Quinne to a Kindred social meetup to help introduce her to the different citizens around Caliburn Island. On this night, she was recognized by the Camarilla.
