==Biography==
===As a mortal===
Romana Pendragon was born in 1683, the third child of a wealthy landowner in eastern England. Pendragon joined the British Army and fought in the campaigns of the {{w|War of Spanish Succession}}.

Her leadership qualities, combined with a ruthless persistence and a Machiavellian approach to politics, were rewarded often and well by her superiors. It was no secret that she was being groomed for a top seat in Parliament. However, her political dreams in the mortal world were never to materialize in the manner she had planned.

During a period of rest and relaxation in Switzerland, the young infantry captain met her [[sire]]. She was as beautiful as she was merciless, and it is very likely that Pendragon's ruthless nature attracted her. On August 12, 1703, Pendragon was Embraced by {{www|Dark Selina}}, a wicked vampiress with worldly ambitions.

===As a Cainite===
It took Pendragon more than 60 years to mature to the point where Selina felt she could be introduced into Kindred society as a force to be reckoned with. Her scheming helped Pendragon climb the social and political ladder of Kindred society in Switzerland, but she was unhappy there and yearned to return to her native England. Selina, however, forbade her to leave. Although Romana was [[Blood bond|Blood Bound]] to her, she had not tasted her blood in years, and the control of the Bond faded. On the eve of Selina's bid for princedom in Zurich, Romana attacked and drank her into torpor and left to conquer her homeland. During the next century, Pendragon became the most prominent Brujah in England. However, her plans faltered when many of her Brujah supporters betrayed her out of fear of her ambitions. She was forced out of Britain in 1885 and fled back to Switzerland with her brood.

===Defection===

On August 17, [[2052]], following the death of Justicar [[Theo Bell]] at the hands of [[Francis Milliner]] at the [[2052 Symposium and Conclave|2052 Conclave]], and subsequent perceived mistreatment by Justicar [[Lucinde]], Romana Pendragon defected from the [[Camarilla]], declaring the Commonwealth of Connecticut to be an Anarch Free state.

We have bled for their power games, suffered under their tyranny, and watched as they sacrificed their own for the illusion of control.

Connecticut shall no longer be a vassal to the Camarilla, nor a battleground for the Sabbat’s madness. Tonight, I declare Connecticut an Anarch Free State. Here, we will build a society where no Kindred is bound by the chains of elders who see us as mere tools. Here, we will forge our own destiny, free from the lies and machinations of the so-called Ivory Tower.

Let it be known: any Kindred seeking refuge from the oppression of the Camarilla, the insanity of the Sabbat, or the corruption of the Independent Alliance will find a home here, where freedom and autonomy are our guiding principles. We will defend this land with our blood, our will, and our unity.

The old world crumbles. It is time for something new to rise in its place. Let Connecticut stand as a beacon of that change—a place where we, the Anarchs, will finally take our fate into our own hands.
