Alex was not keen on his new life, but accepted the new change. He decided to continue to research more rituals and worldly knowledge instead of developing his new powers. This disappointed his sire, and his fellow clan mates, and they began to treat him like a disgraceful failed project. Alex tolerated their abuse of him, physically and mentally. He simply attempted to coast by, learning more and more of other knowledge. Alex was resilient, despite all they would do to him, a much needed trait in the Tremere. His reputation with the Camarilla would be much different, showing other members he could be trusted and respected. He would aid other members where he could for free, much to the chagrin of his Clanmates. Eventually, this gave him some free reign to become a professor for Boston University for a few years. He did night classes, mostly online, and focused on chemistry but was also known to focus on English and Philosophy, with some basic fake papers to fake his age and expertise to be more accurate to how he looked. He would go on to write some academic papers that peers in Boston found quite wonderful, getting himself published in a few scientific journals. However, he would soon find it too tiresome and troublesome to simply continue to be in Boston. As a result, Alex would go to Caliburn Island under the guise of wanting to learn more of the world and develop his own powers. He did make a promise to his sire that he would be doing that after all.
