History

Kris Bailey, once a promising art student with dreams of creating masterpieces, found herself on the gritty streets of Los Angeles after a series of unfortunate events disrupted the path she wanted to follow.

The young one changed the course of her whole life after the death of their parents. Dropped college after spending half of the first year skipping class, God knows where she was going when not in classes. Eventually, Kris stopped being a good student, passionate artist, and went deep into the bohemian world of LA's underground art scene. She traded her textbooks for spray cans, her studio for the alleyways, seeking inspiration in the vibrant chaos of the city, trying new things in the need of escaping reality, alcohol, drugs, anything to keep her head away from intrusive thoughts. Unbeknownst to Kris, her descent into this nocturnal world caught the attention of a Gangrel vampire named “Ray”, who would later become her Sire.

Kris was killed in a fight during a drug deal gone wrong, getting herself stabbed in a 2 versus 1 conflict, though she tried to survive with her bare teeth and fists, once she realized it was too late for that, she tried to take down at least one of the aggressors. In the end, the girl laid down on the ground in a dark alleyway, bleeding to death. That's when, at least according to Ray, the older Gangrel jumped down to knock out the mortals and Embrace Kris before she would be too far on the other side, but then what became her Sire simply disappeared as if she were never there.

The neonate was left on her own for a year as a "test", if she survived alone that far, that meant the Embrace was worth it after all, and she was worthy to finally get an explanation.

4 years after the embrace, her Sire told Kris that she needed to get to Caliburn Island, being very vague with the specifics. Something about L.A. not being stable at the moment, and ‘personal growth trip’. Maybe it was a punishment for something she made unknowingly, who knew except Ray. The only thing that was certain is that Kris couldn't say 'no', so she made her new beginnings in a totally new State.
