Discord Channels
OOC Channels[edit | edit source]
OOC Channels are for OOC conversations. IC conversations shouldn't happen in these channels, and players should be careful to avoid over-discussing IC conflicts in OOC chats. Among these are:
#larp-announcements
: Announcements about game, updates, and more, from the Narrator Team.#larp-info
: General reference links for the LARP.#larp-ooc-general
: general chat.#larp-photos
: Photos from game, fan art, and more.#larp-quotes
: Quotes from game. Our out of game.
IC Channels[edit | edit source]
IC channels represent actual IC conversations between characters. Only sanctioned, approved characters may access these channels.
#caliburn-news
: posts from the Narrator Team about things going on in Caliburn. This represents local mundane media.
Shrecknet Channels & Shrecknet-encrypted Channels[edit | edit source]
- See: SchreckNet
Shrecknet 2.0 was created in the early 2000's under the direction of Powell, Stanford Warwick, Kurt Densch, and a group of Nosferatu programmers. In order to be adopted, the group behind its creation went though a rigorous testing process until even the Inner Council were assured of its legitimate security.
Schrecknet 2.5 was released in the early 2010's, with added features. Among these was the ability to send and receive encrypted direct messages, create private message rooms, and others. The trustless security of Shrecknet prevents it from being spied on, even by the system's own administrators. It also allowed third-party applications to use Shrecknet's encryption. Since that time, many clans and groups have adopted the use of Shrecknet, including those outside the Camarilla.
Local Shrecknet Channels[edit | edit source]
#Caliburn-general
is hosted locally and is encrypted by Shrecknet. It was set up by Gerald Steadhand after the first modern compact. It is accessible by most supernaturals on the island after they have arrived. It is generally not visible to those outside the domain.#Primogen
,#cam-court-full
,#ala
,#masters-of-elysium
, etc are local and were set up by those groups and are accessible to them.
Semi-Local Shrecknet Channels[edit | edit source]
Most sect and clan channels were set up up their sects and are accessible by members of that sect. These channels are considered to be mostly-local, but can be accessed by members of nearby domains. In general, anyone outside the New England area will not read these messages, but announcements from higher-up officers may be relayed here.
You must have the merits Clan Adoption, have 5 levels of Alternate Identity, or have narrator team approval to access channels outside of your clan or sect.
Non-Schrecknet Channels[edit | edit source]
#Malkavian-madness-network
is the actual madness network. It is accessible to Malkavians and those adopted into the clan. Some powerful Malkavians (not PCs) can sometimes make their presence known through imagery and names that aren't their own. It is much more nebulous as to who, exactly, can access it.#Tremere-Chantry
is a separate communications medium created and maintained by the Tremere, out of secrecy. It is accessible through the Rite of Introduction, a 0-point ritual every Tremere knows. It is accessible per Chantry, and is also accessible and visible to every Tremere above them in the Heirarchy.
Other[edit | edit source]
#uss-andrea-doria
is a communications network run by the Federation.#saunders-ridge
uses an encrypted communications network get up by the Glasswalkers that allows local Garou to communicate and interfaces with Weaver devices, if desired.#the-fools-gambit
is a set of enchanted bulletin boards set up for changelings to communicate. It is accessible to any members of the Fools Gambit Freehold, which includes both Caliburn Island and Boston.#off-stage-scenes
is used for group scenes as necessary, which will appear as private threads.
