Kindred Unlife[edit | edit source]

“Fenrir” is hard to truly find information on, especially anything about their past before their embrace. It appears to have been fully scrubbed clean, like they had never existed and was done by someone who does this professionally. “Fenrir” appears to also have no recollection of what their past was like before their embrace. The memories of growing up in the Manhattan area to a loving family, going to university to become a doctor, all of that gone. Instead just replaced with knowledge their sire felt they needed to know to be a useful “Encyclopedia”. They did actually have vision back in this past, however it was also taken away due to their embrace. “Fenrir” is of the belief that they were always blind, but it is actually due to their sire acquiring someone with vicissitude to do this to them. It is true that they were acknowledged by the Camarilla at some point, 30 years ago. They were embraced in New York City at the time to a Banu Haqim Vizier, however due to their diluted blood, they were a Caitiff instead of a Banu Haqim. Shortly after, they moved to Texas where they completed their accounting all the while being hidden by their sire from kindred society due to being seen as a 'disgrace', simply existing to study and store information that their sire deemed necessary so that they could retrieve important bits of academia and lore when relevant. They were treated nicely by their sire in secret, their opinion mattered as it offered a good source of conflict, one that leads to productive thoughts. They got their name “Fenrir” from the Camarilla members who stopped by and required either their or their sires' services on information. This was primarily due to them having a rather large knowledge about the Garou, and as a result the name stuck. They got the name “Encyclopedia” from their sire as either a form of direct naming due to their usage, or maybe even a term of endearment instead of the name “Fenrir” much like a pet. Their ears and tail are also a mystery, however due to how the details look, it looks as if they could have been done cosmetically in the current day in age by a cosmetic surgeon, although it is likely that vicissitude was used in actuality. This was done fully by their sire’s choice, not by “Fenrir” it appears, but from what others have said they do not seem to mind it. There is also little information about their sire, however there is a small amount of news detailing their death as well as her name “Riley La Bora''. It appears they were hunted down, either for knowing too much about something or even because they felt that they would have been too good of a source of information if they went to the wrong hands. It is notable that their sire was recently looking into information about Caliburn, the mysteries that surround it, and infernalism which in turn led to their sire being suspected of the practice of such deplorable acts despite the lack of proof. As a result, curiosity killed. Riley was secretly bumped off as to eliminate the possible threat before it became a true danger to other Assamites and the Camarilla. Riley sent “Fenrir” away to a close friend, “Gavin Derringer”, as a form of safety, hopeful that “Fenrir” could find some form of place within kindred society and make use of their talent for acquiring such vast amounts of knowledge without living in fear of being rejected and killed based on their bloodline. Before parting, Riley told "Fenrir" to not come looking for her as she would no longer be in this world and emphasized that they do not seek revenge for her death. Their sire also appeared to have been hopeful that “Fenrir”’s information they have been loaded with may indeed be helpful to those they manage to come across. Having made no promise themselves to not look into the matter, Gavin was much more concerned about Riley's sudden demise and dedicated several years to investigating the cause of their dear friend's death, uncovering details little by little over the next 2 years that eventually lead to their discovery of another Assamite who conducted the killing blow to their sire. Gavin decided it would be him who took it upon himself to avenge his friend for what has happened to her instead of involving “Fenrir”. It was during this time that he released “Fenrir” to fend for themself, to wander where it is they pleased after they ensured they were safe to go out. Eventually, they make it to the island of Caliburn, mostly from the rumors of odd happenings going on and that information might be rather useful to those around them. Having no reason to change sect in this timeline, they are still aligned with the camarilla.

Recent Unlife[edit | edit source]

Eventually they took leave of Caliburn, due to an urgent call from Gavin. Gavin was in trouble, big trouble, by the rest of the Banu Haqim. "Encyclopedia" had the information to get him out of it. Ultimately, Gavin was rescued by "Encyclopedia" and the rest of the clan saw it fit to fully adopt them into the clan formally. No longer were the considered a Caitiff in their eyes. The trouble and tribulations of recuing Gavin did take a slight toll on them, as they felt a bit more on edge, especially with joining the main clan. They have recently returned to Caliburn Island, as they find that their information and teachings could still be useful there the most.
