Sammie Okra was a Caitiff in the Anarch Movement. He was the former Warden of Blood and former Advocate of Brighton Beach.

History[edit | edit source]

Little was known about the history of Sammie Okra before arriving on Caliburn Island.

Darius Marcus Estate Raid March 9th, 2052[edit | edit source]

Sammie Okra took part in a raid on Darius Marcus's estate. During the raid, Sammie Okra attempted to share blows with Darius, but was unfortunately overpowered by the Elder Ventrue's Dominate capabilities. The raiding party, including Sammie, were ultimately able to escape due to the help of the Camarilla Sheriff Danny DeVitae. Sammie and others began gearing up for a second offensive sometime in the future. Darius was unharmed through the entire raid, while the raiding force took serious injury.

Darius Marcus Call to Arms[edit | edit source]

Sammie Okra, as the Advocate of Brighton Beach, held a Call to Arms against Darius Marcus. Darius Marcus became Forsaken to the Anarch Movement.

Gloria's Coronation[edit | edit source]

Sammie Okra was invited by the Warden of Glamour Scarlett Hart as a plus one to Gloria's coronation party. During the party, Sammie confronted and started an altercation with the kithain Count of Essex, Francis Powell. Another kithain Noble, the Duke of Maple Zennabar The Dragon, attempted to intervene and ultimately defused the situation by scaring Sammie away through roaring and threat of fire. Sammie took minor injuries.

Darius Marcus Estate Raid April 27, 2052[edit | edit source]

Sammie Okra was among the Kindred who took part in the second raid against Darius Marcus. Sammie Okra was one of the Kindred leading the assault in through the front door, among Danny DeVitae, Damien Blackfeather, Psycho, Tristian Allerdale, and others. The ground floor assault team made their way upwards through the building before engaging in combat on the second floor with Ghoul and Kindred retainers. Both Sammie Okra and Danny DeVitae sought out Darius Marcus directly, chasing him down as he leapt out of a window to try and escape with his unlife. He was ultimately captured with the help of outside forces and staked by Danny DeVitae.

Rescue of Chuy Pisanob and Final Death[edit | edit source]

Sammie participated in an operation to rescue Chuy Pisanob from the hands of the wraith Consortium. Sammie was killed against a heavily-moliated, armored wraith wielding advanced Outrage, while carrying the freed and torpored Janus Guard. Sammie tossed the Janus Guard to the others and fought against the Wraith ensuring their safe escape. Sammie plummeted to his final death as the Wraith sent them both tumbling off a cliff into the Maelstrom below.

Memorial[edit | edit source]

A memorial was held at Chalice Hill Cemetery for Sammie as well as the members of the Camarilla who had passed at the 2052 Conclave of Hartford. Many kindred came together from all sects to attend, as well as some Wraiths and Fera. During the memorial, many kindred shared their memories of Sammie, and how he had made an impact on their unlives. Everyone spoke fond memories of Sammie being unruly but ultimately kind. Selene Blackwood held a moment of silence for the fallen.

"Of Sammie, though not of our sect, I do think I will miss the most. He was the first friend of Sewer Man, my best friend, aside from the sewers. He was the first to give him a real fight and show him kindness, in a time when that isn't very common. I will miss that bastard.

He died doing what he thought he should, being in fights he shouldn't be in, and I will always remember him as being the first person to truly welcome my friend here. And so to the Anarchs, I mourn with you."

- Morgain

"They offered their assistance to Clan Giovanni in retrieving one of our Janus Guard members. We were low in numbers, we were going to a very dangerous place. They didn't have to, but they had the courage to offer their assistance and played key roles in that rescue mission.

I am very sorry for all the losses, and I cannot thank the members of their family enough. They didn't need to, but they wanted to.

Before I go I am reminded of a poem by Robert Frost:

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep."

- Lucrezia Stracci

"Sammie Okra, as a member of the Anarch Movement, died doing what he loved. He died defending those who he felt like needed defending.

In the Anarch Movement, we are like brothers and sisters to each other. And although Sammie Okra was quite an unruly brother, he was still a brother of ours.

He always wanted to go out punching a ghost, and it seems like he did so, beating a Wraith with it's own arm as he fell to his final death."

- Psycho

"So too will I miss Sammie Okra, my brother-in-arms, my partner in crime, and that stupid face of his. Every time he tried to give me a dog treat, or shove peanut butter in my face, or hold me upside down when I was in a bird form to flip people the bird. I will miss him. I will miss him deeply.

I told him that night that he should run. I told him that if ever he was in danger that he should try to stay alive. But, more important that he find that he should try to protect others. And, I think that it's incredibly foolish, but I love him for it. And I will always remember him."

- Damien Blackfeather

"As for Sammie Okra, he's a curious case. A lot of times he would cause a lot of trouble. A lot of times he would also be one of the realest persons in the room. He would sometimes face judgement for any problem members, but also would staunchly defend anybody who felt they were oppressed.

In his final moments, even though I wasn't there for the event, I'm pretty sure what he was thinking is that it was justified, and it would be a way to show people how important he was to the Movement. For sure he died happy knowing that he lived as he was and not somebody else.

I sure hope that if he ever comes back that he will still continue to be that type."

- Antonio Sanchez

"When Paulo Giovanni, was Warden of Caliburn, left, there was briefly a time when the Blood Warden of Caliburn was not filled. I stepped in to, for a short time, be Blood Warden until a new one could be found. Sammie was very quick to step forward and be the Blood Warden, and hold that position, and he held that position, and he did that job to the best of his ability.

He was a good fighter. He cared a lot about the Anarchs and the Anarch ideals. It's really hard to put into words, the way that he did the things he did. But he really cared about this island and really cared about his people."
