Leto, The Morning Star is a Ventrue and the former matriarch of House Morningstar. In 2051, she was added to the Camarilla's Red List after murdering Archon Janet Trenton.

History

Mortal Life

Very few records exist regarding Leto's mortal life. What is currently known is that she was born in Corsica in the late 15th century.

House Morningstar

House Morningstar was officially founded in 1684 in Paris, France by Leto, through an assembly of her childer. Another Ventrue House had recently fallen into disarray and Leto, on assignment from her sire Ebles le Croisé, was tasked with offering them the Ethic of Succor and performing a buyout of the other House’s assets. This was done with great expedience, and soon thereafter the new House Morningstar began to catalogue and sort the assets they had acquired. Among them were several artifacts of great importance, so Leto, through an act of Fealty, swore to protect them and keep them in the hands of the Ivory Tower.

In 1714, Leto’s childe Erasmus Dane arrived in the new world, and saw a great opportunity to perform the House’s works on the small island called Caliburn off the coast of Massachusetts. There he built a fortress called The Chateau and, over the centuries, created a power base of Ventrue which was the admiration of the clan. For these works Leto was rewarded, her house being held in high esteem even as a minor house.

Betrayal and Red List

In 2048, Leto engaged with the Sabbat and provided them secrets about Caliburn Island in order to create a conflict that led to the release of The Unending Storm. Following the Abomination's capture, Leto and House Morningstar were investigated by Archon Janet Trenton for potentially abusing her position as Warden of Blood. Leto is believed to have killed and diablerized Archon Trenton. Following this, Leto was blood-hunted by Prince Jim McCoy and other Princes of New England.

These blood hunts were conveyed by Romana Pendragon to the Justicar Council, and soon afterward Justicar Ethereal announced Leto's addition to the Red List.

Leto added to the Red List

In accordance with the ancient traditions and solemn duties upheld by the esteemed Camarilla, we, the Justicars, do hereby issue forth this proclamation to all Kindred who swear allegiance to the Ivory Tower. In recognition of her transgressions and flagrant disregard for the established principles that bind our honorable society, let it be known that the creature known as Leto, The Morning Star, of House Morningstar, of Clan Ventrue, has been deemed a grave threat to the stability, harmony, and sanctity of our illustrious sect and an enemy of the Camarilla. Her actions have cast a shadow upon the hallowed halls of our esteemed society, tarnishing the legacy of our forebears and endangering the very foundations upon which we stand.

By our unanimous decree, and by our Ascendance, Leto, The Morning Star, of Clan Ventrue, is henceforth declared as the 17th name added to the Camarilla Red List. She is henceforth Blood Hunted in all corners of the earth, that she be hunted for the remiainder of her nights until she is met with the Final Death and her blood used to strengthen whosoever shall claim the Trophy of Clan Malkavian.

Let this proclamation serve as a somber testament to the gravity of Leto's transgressions, a clarion call to our dedicated and vigilant brethren to remain steadfast in our cause. As we continue to champion the ideals of the Camarilla, we are resolute in our commitment to safeguard our domains, protect our Kindred kin, and uphold the principles that have guided our society through the annals of history.

Clan Ventrue

Leto was a high-ranking Ventrue, having served as a Lictor as well as, on multiple occasions, acting as a Myrmidon to the Imperator, Karsh. She was very well-regarded in the Clan and had an immense amount of connections in the Camarilla and beyond. She is also known to have associated with Augustus Giovanni, Lucinde the Red Alastor, Hardestadt, and others.
