The Sects

From Dark Skylines Wiki

Camarilla[edit | edit source]

Nickname: The Ivory Tower

Clans: Brujah, Malkavian, Nosferatu, Toreador, Tremere, Ventrue. The Gangrel clan has left the Camarilla, but Caliburn Island recently granted the Gangrel a seat on the Primogen Council. Many Assamites are also Camarilla.

The Camarilla is heavily political and generally focuses on preserving a Kindred's Humanity and maintaining the Traditions. Elders are revered for their wisdom. They consider the Anarchs to be a subset of the Camarilla, and they tolerate and sometimes work with Independents. Sabbat are seen as mortal enemies. Caliburn is a Camarilla city.

Sabbat[edit | edit source]

Nickname: The Sword of Caine

Clans: Lasombra, Tzimisce

The Sabbat is an apocalyptic religious sect. They reject Humanity and revel in violence. Sabbat generally view outsiders as mortal enemies and rarely work with members of other sects.

Anarch Movement[edit | edit source]

Clans: Any Clans

Anarchs reject the social hierarchies of the Camarilla, although they have similar ideologies. They follow the Masquerade and usually live relatively peacefully alongside the Camarilla, but they don't consider themselves a part of it.

Independent Alliance[edit | edit source]

Clans: Giovanni, Followers of Set, and others

Founded for their own survival, the Independent Alliance is the youngest of the sects. Since its creation the IA has carved a niche for itself in the World of Darkness as black market dealers, purveyors of rare goods and providers of secure locations to conduct the questionable business of the night. Bound together by necessity, only time will tell what truly motivates these unlikely bedfellows.

Autarkis[edit | edit source]

Clans: Any

Worth mentioning are those who claim self-autonomy. Not a sect, but rather the claiming of no sect alignment at all. Autarkis are rare in the world of Kindred, as sect alignment and clan-ship bring a form of safety in numbers. Kindred who choose this for themselves tend to form a lot of ties to make themselves useful, otherwise they have no backup if things get bad.
