Soot
Sophia "Soot" Hirak is a gifted telepathic childe of Malkav in the Camarilla. She served as Keeper of Elysium in July 2052. She was appointed to Harpy in September 2052.
History[edit | edit source]
Mortal Life[edit | edit source]
Sophia Hirak was born in Stockholm Sweden to a seamstress. Her mother worked hard to make a decent life for her and eventually made enough money to send her daughter to the school of her choice in the city.
Shortly after starting her schooling, she met a wealthy estranged man who took an interest in her. He started paying for her schooling and other expenses, choosing to fund her quest for knowledge. He invited her to come and attend the college that he was a professor at in Helsinki, and she obliged.
Kindred Unlife[edit | edit source]
After relocating to Helsinki, she began to learn of the kindred world from her Malkavian Sire, Baron Jaakko Fischer, who embraced her willingly. She took an interest in spirits and mysticism while perfecting her vision. As the Sabbat took more of Scandinavia, her Sire eventually relocated them both to Berlin into the open domain of Prince Wilhelm Waldburg. After the banishment of Wilhelm, and final death of Prince Abraham Wolff, her Sire chose to return to Helsinki while Sophia chose to head West to the United States.
Recent Unlife[edit | edit source]
Presentation to Camarilla[edit | edit source]
Sophia presented herself before the Caliburn Island Camarilla on March 23, 2052 and was accepted as an Ancilla.
Gloria's Coronation Party[edit | edit source]
Sophia attended the coronation party of Gloria as the new Duchess of Pewter, along with many other members of the Malkavian and Toreador clans. During the party, Sophia presented Gloria with a manuscript that was a transcription of an artists dreams, as notated herself through telepathy as the artist slept. Gloria thanked her for the manuscript and the dross included within.
Second Darius Marcus Raid[edit | edit source]
Sophia was present for the second raid on Darius Marcus's estate, April 27th, 2052. During the raid, Sophia patrolled the exterior of the building along with many others, led by Elder Gabriel Payne. The group was instrumental in providing assistance to Sheriff Danny DeVitae in capturing Darius Marcus as he attempted to escape the scene after jumping out of a second story window.
2052 Conclave of Hartford[edit | edit source]
Sophia attended the 2052 Conclave of Hartford along with many other kindred. When the Sabbat attacked, Sophia was able to use her high levels of Obfuscate to ensure the escape of the majority of the Caliburn Malkavians.
Appointment to Keeper[edit | edit source]
Sophia had expressed interest to the Prince and members of the Primogen Council in the position of Harpy given the vacancy left by the declaration of praxis by former Talon then Prince Kelson O'Dell. After some consideration and consensus of a portion of the Primogen, Kelson O'Dell asked Sophia if she would take the position of Keeper of Elysium. She agreed and was appointed to the position on July 6th, 2052, replacing the sitting Keeper of Elysium Omori Noriko who was later promoted to Harpy.
Promotion to Harpy[edit | edit source]
A week before the gathering on September 28th, 2052, Omori Noriko stepped down from Harpy leaving a vacancy in that position. Sophia immediately showed interest in it gaining the backing of multiple Primogen before being appointed to the position the night of the gathering.
Forsakement and Blood Hunt[edit | edit source]
On October 12th, 2052, the Warden of Blood Damien Blackfeather posted a message on the Caliburn Schrecknet demanding Sophia to present herself to the Seneschal or Sheriff of the Camarilla or else he would "ruin" her. Sophia met with and spoke to Seneschal Tristian Allerdale that evening while obfuscated. This was not communicated or not considered sufficient enough to meet the Warden of Blood's demands. Prince Selene Blackwood declared a Blood Hunt on Sophia the evening of October 14th, 2052, asking for her to be taken alive if possible.
Accusations levied against Sophia by the Warden of Blood Damien Blackfeather included assistance in removal of a fae artifact from Caliburn Island, wiping the memories of Toreador Primogen Marcelle Dupont to hide the crime, and using the powers of Dominate against Damien Blackfeather to avoid questioning. Sophia was also accused of breaching the Tradition of Destruction twice.
This Blood Hunt was met with heavy criticism by Sophia who attempted to dismiss the legitimacy of the Blood Hunt given her position and status within the Camarilla as other members of the Camarilla showed support for Selene Blackwood's decision. Sophia was urged to turn herself in by multiple members of the Camarilla and ultimately refused citing past trauma and fear of collusion between the Warden and Prince. She claimed innocence yet expressed plans to leave the island.
Capture in Norfal[edit | edit source]
A team of kindred was assembled and hunted for Sophia in the Malkavian territory of Norfal. Sophia was spotted and captured by Scourge Gabriel Payne, with assistance from Warden of Blood Damien Blackfeather, Constable Antonio Sanchez, Lucky, and Aldwin Forgewright. She was transferred to the estate of Gabriel Payne pending presentation and questioning by the Prince of Caliburn Island.
Reinstatement as Harpy[edit | edit source]
On October 26th, 2052, a trial was held at the Chateau where Sophia presented her case before the Camarilla court. During this questioning, a web of telepathy was set up so that some members of the Primogen and the Prince could listen in on her thoughts. Sophia plead her case and was ultimately found as innocent of all crimes by the Camarilla court. She was reinstated as Harpy following the resolution of the investigation and all of her status and prestation returned to her.
